Convert TIFF to JPG

Turn your TIFF files into JPG in seconds. Everything happens in your browser: nothing is uploaded to any server.

Or paste them with Ctrl+V. They never leave your device.

Why convert TIFF to JPG?

Browsers cannot display it and files are large; here the first page is converted. As a JPG any phone, computer or website opens it, and photos stay small.

About the formats

TIFF, the print and scanner format

TIFF is the format of scanners, printers and photo archives, with lossless compression and multiple pages.

Strengths: It keeps full quality and is a standard in print and publishing.

Limits: Browsers cannot display it and files are large; here the first page is converted.

JPG, the most widespread photo format

JPG (or JPEG) compresses photos lossily: it drops details the eye barely notices so the file is much smaller.

Strengths: Every phone, computer, social network and app can open it, and it is ideal for photographs.

Limits: It has no transparency and loses a little quality each time it is edited and saved again.

Frequently asked questions

Is my TIFF uploaded to a server to turn it into JPG?

No. The TIFF to JPG conversion runs entirely in your browser, with code downloaded from this site and executed on your device. You can check it in the Network tab of the developer tools or by going offline after the page loads.

What happens to a transparent background going from TIFF to JPG?

JPG has no transparency: transparent areas of the TIFF are filled with the colour you choose (white by default).

Do I lose quality converting TIFF to JPG?

A little: JPG uses lossy compression. At the default quality the difference is not visible to the naked eye, and you can raise it in the options for maximum quality.

Is there a size limit?

Your device’s memory sets the limit: on desktop, images up to about 100 megapixels; on mobile, up to 16.7. If an image is too large you are told before it starts.

Can I convert several TIFF files at once?

Yes. Drop as many TIFF files as you like: several are converted at the same time, depending on your processor cores, and when they finish you can download each JPG or all of them in a ZIP.
