The files you convert with Wololo are read and processed in your own browser. They are not uploaded to any server, so we never receive them, store them or see them. The same goes for their names, their content and any PDF passwords you type.

• How it works and how to check it

Like any website, the server that hosts it records each request: the IP address, date and time, the page requested and the browser. We use them only to keep the site running and protect it from abuse, on the basis of legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and they are deleted after 14 days.

To know which tools are used and which ones fail, we measure visits with Umami, an analytics program installed on our own server. It uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and the data is not shared with anyone.

It records the page visited (without parameters), the site you came from, the type of browser, operating system and device, the language, the screen size and the approximate location (country, region and city), derived from your IP without storing it. For each conversion it also records the type (for example HEIC to JPG), whether it worked or the kind of error, and how long it took. Never the file name or its content.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the service (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is deleted after 24 months. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, nothing is recorded.

The site is funded by Google AdSense ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, before any ad is loaded we ask for your permission with Google’s consent message, a certified consent management platform. That message is served by Google, which receives your IP and your browser’s technical data to show it, and stores your choice in a cookie.

If you accept, Google’s ad code is loaded, and it may use cookies and identifiers to show and measure ads and, if you allow it, to personalise them. Google is the controller of that processing. If you do not accept, no ads are loaded.

The legal basis is your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the page footer.

If you write to help@wololo.win, we use your address and message only to reply to you. We keep them for as long as the conversation lasts and up to one year afterwards, unless the law requires keeping them longer.

These providers process data on our behalf, under contract and with the safeguards required by the GDPR:

• Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): hosts the site’s server, its logs and the statistics.
• Cloudflare, Inc.: manages the domain’s DNS and forwards email sent to help@wololo.win to our mailbox. This may involve transfers to the United States, covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
• Our email provider, which hosts the mailbox where we receive messages.

You can request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing or portability, or object to processing, by writing to help@wololo.win. The statistics do not identify you, so we will usually be unable to find the data of a specific visit.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
